peter_wurschy_130m.jpgDuring the introduction day for diving club DTH (NL), Peter Wurschy attempted to break his current Dynamic with Fins National Record of 146m (announcement). After the final preparations for the attempt had been made, Peter did his warming-up laps. Earlier that evening, his team members were trying to reach him, as there was no sign of him on the official warming up time. But as his coach, Gonnie Roekevisch, turned up at the pool, they knew Peter had arrived aswell. After the final warming up lap had been finised, coach Gonnie informed the judges it would not be long for his 1st attempt.

Around 20:40, Peter immerged for his National Record attempt. Being watched by a curious crowd, he turned his way through the 25m pool. With a new type of mono-fin and a different technique as he usually shows in competitions, he turns up at a nice 130m. peter_wurschy_130m_ok.jpgAs he awaits the final judgement of the jury, a thought rushes through his mind to relax which made him immerge his mouth in the water… As soon as he made the mistake, he lifts his head and starts laughing, already knowing the consequence. “I wouldn’t be lauhging this hard, when this happend at 150m, but…”, Peter says to the crowd.

As the judges inform if he wants a second try, he agrees and prepares himself for another go. But as he went into the 2nd try, he could not find his realxed in-flight-feeling again. Making him terminate the 2nd try resurfacing at 75m.

Whilst climbing out of the water, he told his team members, that Wiesbaden would be the place for his goal. So we’re all anxious to see what the competition in Germany brings.
