Ibiza Freediving Grand Prix

sebmurat.jpgSebastien Murat announced a competition that will take place end of may in Ibiza, Spain. The competition is focused around the constant no fins category and Sebastien modified the discipline to his own ideas. There are two competition going on, the first day it’s the traditional AIDA no fins discipline, and the second day you can start in the pure freediving discipline where you have to dive without any equipment, line, mask or anything (except a nose clip) to a pre-announced depth and be as close as you can. The one with the smallest margin will win. So everybody has a change of winning! If you dive to 20 meters or 80 meters, it doesn’t matter, just dive as close to your announced depth as you can. I personally think it’s a very interesting idea, because now you make this competition accessible for anyone and best thing yet, you make it a competition against yourself! I write some more about this soon! In the mean time take a look here for more info.
