SaltFree Double Dip – Freedive Competition UK
The SaltFree Double Dip takes place on the 28th and 29th July 2007 and is over two freedive disciplines – Constant Weight with Fins and Constant Weight without Fins. It is the first time that the UK has ever had a Constant Weight without Fins competition so no doubt many new records and personal bests will be set.
The Double Dip will be held at the National Diving and Activity Centre, Chepstow (UK). The nearest airport or main train station is Bristol and transport from there can be arranged. There are plenty of places to stay in and around Chepstow including camping sites.
The competition will be AIDA Ranked and will be recognized by the British Freediving Association towards qualifying for a place on the UK Team for 2007. Entries are welcome at ALL levels of ability and we hope to see at least as many new faces as old hands – preferably more! Entry fees and more information are available on www.saltfreedoubledip.com.
In addition to competitors – we also need SPONSORS! Our main sponsorship needs at this stage are either prizes or hard cash to help pay for safety diver gas, judge costs and equipment. If you are interested in helping with sponsorship, or know anyone else who might be – please get in touch. We also need the following – again let us know if you can help:
- A Medic
- Safety Freedivers
- More Safety Scuba Divers to join the Angels Team
- General helpers!
- Photographers and Videographers
There are still quite a few training opportunities at SaltFree before the big day, so you have lots of chance to practice. Dates for these are on www.saltfreedivers.com, if you would like to come please sign up on the forum on Deeper Blue or let me know by email. We’ve been working hard all this weekend to make the pontoon smart and ready for the season’s diving. We now have around 77m of water underneath us – take it as a challenge!
