Tom Sietas Does 9:08!

tomsietas3.jpgYesterday evening Tom Sietas did a very easy 9:08 minutes static which is a new static freediving world record. Excellent news for Tom, congratulations! The previous record was in hands of Austrian Herbert Nitsch with a time of 9:04 minutes. This Saturday Tom will try one more time to break the record again in a TV show! AIDA judges will be present, so it will be a real record if he breaks it.

Update May 3rd: I can finally publish the story, as some one else broke the news on deeperblue first. ;-)

Update May 5th: Today Tom will do another attempt to break the world record during the recordings for the TV “großen Show der Naturwunder”. The show will be broad casted on May 10th at 20:15 (gmt+1) on ARD, a famous German channel.

This is not the official world record. The official record is 9.04 still.

Sorry to say. My sources are very good, the new world record is 9:08. Pending doping test of course. Why would you think otherwise?
