Freediving Art: Kerstin Mattes

kerstinmattes.jpgPeople get inspired by their hobby, passion, events and other stuff to create art. And so, if there is passion for freediving, there is for sure a place for freediving art! If there is no possibility to get in the water and you still want to express and experience freediving you can make a painting, drawing or whatever you want to express it. In this new category we look at some freediving art, some created by freedivers themselves and some created by others who got excited about the possibilities with our sport. This first post in this category will put Kerstin Mattes into the light. Kerstin is a famous German Freediver who participated in many competitions and was even a member in the national German team. She is also known for organizing the famous Wiesbaden RMC competition each year.

kerstinmattes_art.jpgIf you visit her site you can find all sorts of information about Kerstin over there. Nice photo gallery with some pretty nice shots. More below in the menu you will find a link to the art gallery. Following this link brings you to a page will a lot of paintings and quite a few of them are really nice freediving related. Personally I love the red contrast paintings, they really bring out passion for the subject. All the paintings you see are for sale and range from 60 to 120 euro’s and can be ordered by sending a mail to kerstin.

If you know of some other freediving art, let me know so I can take a look at it for my next article.
