Herbert's 83 Constant No Fins Dive
A little less attention, but still an excellent result by Austrian Freediver Herbert Nitsch during the triple depth competition in Dahab, Egypt. Herbert pulled off to do a new world record in the discipline constant no fins by swimming down to 83 meters and getting back with a tag to the surface.
With this record he break the old William Trubridge record of 82 meters and also puts away the controversy around Martin Stepanik’s invalid world record dive to 83 meters where AIDA forgot to put tags at the bottom.
It will be interesting to see to what kind of depth the big guns like Herbert, William Trubridge and William Winram will do during the world championships next week.
Below is some footage of Herbert’s dive and a small interview after that. Enjoy the footage!
