Shark Freediving

What a competition this year! Great collection of top athletes and a total of 4 world records. Amazing stuff! Also a bunch of national records, so if you seek to break some personal, national or world records, it seems that this is THE place to do it. So plan to visit next years Triple Depth competition in Dahab, Egypt.

With the woman the top 3 consisted of the following women:
Sara Campbell – 81 – 90 – 56 = 227
Linda Paganeli – 40 – 75 – 48 = 163
Jarmilla Slovenc… – 46 – 52 – 43 = 141

The men list looked as following:
Ryuzo Shinomiya – 81 -90 – 50 = 221
William Trubridge – 90 – 88 – 77DQSPLMC = 178
Herbert Nitsch 90 – 70DQpull – 83 = 173

Some special attention to William Trubridge and his 88 meter constant weight dive, because he did this with plastic bifins. I think that is the second deepest official competition dive with bi-fins ever, after Martin’s Stepanik Cyprus dive.
