New O2 Static World Record by Nicola Putignano

nicola-putignanoItalian Apnea Academy instructor Nicola Putignano has set a new World Guinness Record with a static on oxygen of over 19 minutes. If anybody has more details please let me know. The old record was in hands of Gianluca Genoni with a 18 minutes and 3 seconds static.

The attempt would be broad-casted on Italian television on last Wednesday and Umberto Pelizzari would be the commentator during the attempt. However the item was skipped and will probably be aired next week. The show is called “Lo Show dei Record” and is broad-casted on Italian Canale 5.

Of course there is also the 21:29 minute static by illusionist David Merline done during the Bahrein Formula 1 weekend. However some controversy around the guy makes me think he’s doing a trick. More on this later.
