10:05 after 16 hours he has done 36.200 km/724 laps. Estimated end distance 54300 km/1086 laps. he has to do 881 laps to break the record so he has to do 157 laps before reaching that!

11:00-12:00
11:05 he’s tired, but also very determined. 38.300 meters after 17 hours. That’s 766 laps underwater. Estimated end distance: 54050 meters / 1081 laps. He will reach the current of 44 kilometers around 13:00 GMT+1 if he continuous like this.
11:50 he’s now at 40 km! The same distance as Andy le Sauce in 2000. 4 km to go!!!
11:53 at 12:00 my official role as guinness witness starts. Pretty impressive paperwork to do for validating this record attempt.
11:55 Sandi asked to change the schedule from 1:15 per lap/rest cycle to 1:25!

12:05 Sandi has 6 hours left. In 18 hours time he managed to do 40.400 meters/808 laps. Predicted final distance: 53850 meters. But probably with the longer timeline it will drop to around 51-52 km. 73 laps to go for the record. Will he continue after that???
12:42 Sandi started with a 2kick/1glide cycle. doing 50 meter laps in 21 kicks and a little bit less then 45 seconds. After all these hours he’s getting tired and his kickcycle went up to 29 kicks and no glide anymore. he’s making very small kicks, which cost him less energy. Time of 50 meters went up to 51-52 seconds. That is also the reason the total cycle is up to 1:25 instead of 1:15.
12:57 Sandi just did an underwater marathon in 18:57 minutes….

IMG_462413:00-14:00
13:02 Already 19 hours have passed and Sandi has done 42.400 meters/848 laps. Estimated end distance: 53.550 meters. 43 laps to go before he has the new record. 13:45 I guess….
13:30 he’s at 43300 meters in 19:30 hours.
13:39:30 he’s at 44km!!!! 19:49:30
13:50 new world record 44050 meters and he still has 4 hours to go.
13:53 he’s out of the water now. taking a break. Standing again. wow.

14:00-15:00
14:05 and he’s back in again. new cycle time of 1:30 min. so a little slower, but for sure he will go over 50 km!!!
14:10 if anybody wants to send a personal message. You can video skype me and I can show you sandi directly on the side of the pool. Just add jorgjansen to skype and give me a call.
14:22 we’re getting a lot of messages. as Sandi arrives at my side of the pool I transfer them to him. He says thanks to everybody for the support. It makes it somewhat bearable.
14:32 he’s at 45 km.
14:55 Sanne just made a new video. Hours 12 to 18. Have a look.

We continue in part 4 here.
