It’s been 3 weeks since my last update about AIDA. So it’s time for another quick update. Bill Stromberg has sent today an email to the Assembly asking for candidacies for the new AIDA board that has to be formed. Everybody can apply and send their candidacy directly to the Assembly, because of the absence of a current AIDA board.

The AIDA Assembly, consisting of voices from every AIDA national, also finished a vote about the number of AIDA Executive members that had to be in place. From the 12 existing posts there will be only 9 left. In short the 6 vice-president functions for each continent will be reformed back to only 1 position. And there will be 2 new functions: Medical & Science Officer and a Media & PR Officer.

Good call in my opinion. Especially the communications part will highly be appreciated. Hopefully we will start to see weekly updates from AIDA about what is going on. But then again, 9 vacancies have to be filled and I’m curious to see if there will be enough people subscribed as a candidate when the deadline of November 5th has arrived.

Dear AIDA Assembly, Judges and Instructors,

We just had the vote result about how many Executive Board members AIDA will have in the future, and this number is 9. Very soon we have to run the election of this 9 executive board persons and I would like to ask all interested persons to send their candidacies directly to the AIDA Assembly mailing list at Assembly_AIDA@yahoogroups.com – this so all AIDA National Representants will have direct access to this information. The Assembly list will be open for anyone and the mail will go directly out to everyone on this mailing list.

It would be very good if every one who applying for this board work could, at the same time, send a small Curriculum Vita and a presentation of yourself that maybe include your goals and what you want to see in the future for AIDA.

This board election has been on its way for 4 months already, and everybody had plenty of time to think and evaluate thiscandidacy/election. We will ask persons who apply to send in their candidacies until Thursday the 5th of November 2009. One person is allowed to be candidate for several functions. And important: To talk, write and understand English good is a must for all functions though this is the main language in AIDA.

These are the 9 Executive Board functions we need to find people for.

PRESIDENT; if possible with Judge, Trainer, and Athlete experiences.Good administrative and informatics’ knowledge’s would be needed. Able to speak/read/write in different languages would be an advantage.

VICE-PRESIDENT; if possible with Judge, Trainer, and Athlete experiences. Good administrative and informatics’ knowledge’s would be needed. Able to speak/read/write in different languages would be an advantage.

SECRETARY; good administrative and informatics’ knowledge’s would be needed. Able to speak/read/write in different languages would be an advantage.

TREASURER; if possible, living in Switzerland, or at least in Europe for the Bank Account management. Good administrative and informatics’ knowledge’s would be needed. Book-keeping (compatibility) knowledge’s is absolutely requested. Able to speak/read/write in different languages would be an advantage.

TECHNICAL OFFICER; If possible, with Judge, Trainer, and Athlete experiences. Good administrative and informatics’ knowledge’s would be needed. Able to speak/read/write in different languages would be an advantage. And of course, BIG advantage would also be if the candidate were a high level AIDA Judge.

EDUCATION OFFICER; If possible, with Judge, Trainer, and Athlete experiences. Good administrative and informatics’ knowledge’s would be needed. Able to speak/read/write in different languages would be an advantage. And of course, BIG advantage would also be if the candidate were a high level AIDA Instructor.

SPORT OFFICER; If possible, with Judge, Trainer, and Athlete experiences. Good administrative and informatics’ knowledge’s would be needed. Able to speak/read/write in different languages would be an advantage. And of course, BIG advantage would also be if the candidate were a high level AIDA Judge.

MEDICAL AND SCIENCE OFFICER; Good administrative and informatics’ knowledge’s would be needed. Able to speak/read/write in different languages would be an advantage. A Doctor of Medicine is absolutely requested.

MEDIA AND PR OFFICER; good administrative and informatics’ knowledge’s would be needed. Able to speak/read/write in different languages would be an advantage. And of course, BIG advantage would also be if the candidate has experience of working with media and public relations before.

Lastly, I would ask each Delegates/Consultant (and also Judges, Instructors and Athletes) to, please, forward this message in all their countries.

ps. remember that Board members sign up for 2 years, but can, if necessary, leave their function already after one year or even whenever they want in emergencycases.
