ICARE Trophies 2009 – Time To Vote!
For the people who want to, it’s time to vote again for the ICARE Trophies 2009. ICARE is short for International Center for Apnea Recognition and Education and was founded some years back by AIDA ex-president Sébastien Nagel. Together with Nicolas Laporte, Frédéric Busslinger and Marcello de Matteis, they form the staff for this company.
There has been some controversy around the voting system that says that you can nominate whoever you want during the year and in the last weeks of the year the vote will start and 50% from the voters will count for the end result. The other 50% will be voted upon by the ICARE staff. Oh well… There goes real democracy
I guess when the World championships are over I’ll start with the SFOTY (Shark Freediver Of The Year) Awards. Any suggestions for categories?

Ha! I am nominated as the best captain/coach? Must be a mistake! I am not aware I have ever been one. So if I was, it was certainly unconscient. Anyway, I am sure I’d be a miserable one.
Jorg, where did you take the above list from? I looked ar it on the website of immersion-profonde.ch, and it is quite different from this one. And fortunately my name is not on it, since it really does not belong there.
@trux I just looked at the website… and you’re still mentioned over there. I got an email from ICARE with the above information.
Hmm, strange, I looked at it now again, and you are right – I am there, but it is a completely different list than what I saw this afternoon. I cannot find it anymore, even not im my browser cache, but it really much different, and I’d tell more adequate in all disciplines. For example in the discipline for the best freediver it contained 6 or 7 names, including Guy Brew, who on my mind really belongs there, and who is not in the list visible now on the link. The other list was on the website with the layout of this page http://www.immersion-profonde.ch/Renens2005.htm?Generalinformations.htm, but currently it returns only error messages.
Well, I found the other list in Google cache – you can see that it is quite different:

Ah, now it works: http://www.immersion-profonde.ch/index.htm?ICARE.htm
Errr… Martin STEPANEK in the Best Female Freediver category?
@Michael M Where where? that would be news
