Yesterday there was a freediving competition going on in Liege, Belgium. With 9 female and 21 male freedivers from Belgium, Netherlands, Greece, Russia, France, and Germany. Quite diverse nationalities, but that’s probably part of Belgium ;)
Nanja van den Broek from Holland won static and dynamic without fins with a time of 5:22 minutes and a distance of 95 meters. Olga Martinez from Germany won dynamic with fins with a distance of 137 meters. Anouck Badot set a new Belgium dynamic without fins record with a distance of 82 meters.
Eric van Riet Paap from Holland also won the same two disciplines that his female countrywoman won, static and dynamic without fins. He did this by holding his breath for 7:13 minutes and swimming underwater for 130 meters. Igor Migunov from Russia won dynamic with fins with a 149 meter distance.
