Shark Freediving

A lot of freediving video’s are being posted everyday on Internet and sometimes, and only really sometimes, a new freediving video is posted that is just a piece of art. Guillaume Nery and Julie Gautier have made a beautiful piece of art. Enjoy!

Guillaume Nery reports on his website about a documentary about his preparation and competition in the Bahamas.

Here is the first version (13 min version) of a documentary on me: DEEP BLUE (by Axel Ramonet and Aurore Asso). The final version will be a 52 min movie that will be shown on Orange Sport Channel. For those who don’t speak french, enjoy the pictures!

I must say there are really some excellent shots in there. Very nice and beautiful! Can’t wait for the full version.

One of my favorite freedivers is Guillaume Nery. He’s been doing some great things in the last years and thanks to some sponsors he is featured in quite some high profile TV, commercials and other stuff.

From doing a freediving expedition to Afghanistan to appearing in a BMW commercial, the French freediver knows how to deliver an interesting personality.

Today Guillaume Nery improved his 72 meter constant without fins national French record to a depth of 75 meters! Guillaume has made big progress during the competition he is doing these performances in. It seems that he’s interested in becoming one of the top CNF specialists out there.

It took him 3:03 minutes to take the tag at 75 meters and return safely to the surface. It was the easiest dive he has done during this competition. Tomorrow he will relax and do a Free Immersion dive on the last day of the competition.

Today Guillaume Nery set a new national French record in the discipline constant weight without fins (CNF). He dived without his fins to a depth of 72 meters during the 2nd mediterranean freediving meeting. Guillaume about his dive:

The dive was nice. I was of course a little more tired than 2 days ago at 65m, but very clear at the surface. Right after the dive, I felt all the lactic acid burning every part of my body as I have never experienced before!

It’s always great to see a freediver outside the freediving world. Guillaume Nery is featured in a BMW commercial with some great footage. It’s already out for some time, but I thought some of you would still like to see it over here as well. Enjoy the movie!

It’s already more then one year ago that Guillaume Nery from France did his world record 109 meter constant weight dive. His sponsor, watch maker Ball, made a nice sponsor video about this dive. Great stuff to watch!
